Argos return opened item

Have you purchased an item from Argos and opened it, only to find it isn’t what you wanted? Are you searching ‘Argos return opened item’, wondering whether you can return your purchase? You’re in the right place.

In this article, we’ll explain the Argos returns policy, as well as answering the key question: can you return an opened item to Argos? We’ll also provide some tips on how to make a return if you’ve opened the item.

What You Should Know About Argos Returns

Argos is one of the UK’s largest retailers, and offers a 30 day returns policy on most items. This means that you can return your purchase to Argos within 30 days of receiving it, as long as it’s unused and in the same condition as when you bought it. It will also need to be in its original packaging, with all tags still attached. You’ll need proof of purchase, which could be a physical receipt or an email confirmation of your purchase.

However, if your purchase is faulty, you will have more rights thanks to the Consumer Rights Act. This applies if the item you’ve purchased is broken, damaged, unusable or if it doesn’t match its advertised description.

In this case, you have a right to a full refund, as well as any associated delivery costs. You also have the right to a replacement or repair, if the item is still within its warranty period.

Can You Return An Opened Item To Argos?

The answer to this question is yes – you can return an opened item to Argos. However, you’ll need to have the original packaging, and any tags will need to be attached. You’ll also need proof of purchase in the form of a receipt or email confirmation of your order.

If the item in question is faulty, you won’t need the original packaging or any tags – you’ll just need to have your proof of purchase.

Making A Return At Argos

If you’ve decided to return an item that you’ve opened, the process is relatively simple. You can either head to your nearest Argos store, or you can return it via post.

If you’re returning the item in store, you’ll need to take the product, your proof of purchase and the original packaging with you. The staff at Argos will be happy to help you process your return, and will give you a refund or exchange depending on what you’re returning.

If you’re returning the item by post, you’ll need to fill out an online returns form. A postage label will then be generated so that you can send your order back to Argos for a refund.

If you’re returning the item by post, you’ll need to fill out an online returns form. A postage label will then be generated so that you can send your order back to Argos for a refund.

Do I Need Packaging To Return Faulty Goods?

No – you don’t need the original packaging to return faulty goods to Argos, or any other retailer. This is because faulty goods are covered by the Consumer Rights Act, which states that goods must be fit for purpose and as described. However, you will need to have your proof of purchase, such as a receipt or email confirmation of your order.

Can I Return My Item To Another Store?

If you need to return a purchase to Argos, you might be wondering whether you need to return to the same store, or whether you can return your purchase to any Argos store.

Are Argos Returns Free?

This means that Argos returns are completely free, and you won’t be charged to return your item.

How Long After Purchase Can I Return Faulty Goods?

If you’ve bought an item that is faulty, you’re entitled to a refund or exchange regardless of how long after purchase it is. The Consumer Rights Act states that goods must be fit for purpose and as described, so if your product doesn’t meet these criteria then you are within your rights to make a return.

However, if it has been more than six months since you purchased the item, the retailer has the right to ask you to prove that the item was faulty when you purchased it. This is to avoid customers returning items that have since stopped working due to general wear and tear.

Can I Return An Item If I Don’t Like It?

If you’ve changed your mind about a purchase, or if the item doesn’t fit, you can return it to Argos for a refund. You’ll need to take the product, your proof of purchase and the original packaging (or proof of purchase if the item is faulty) to any Argos store. The staff at Argos will be happy to help you process your return, and will give you a refund or exchange depending on what you’re returning.

How Long Does Argos Refund Take?

If you’re returning an item to Argos, you might be wondering how long you should expect to wait to receive your refund.

If you’re returning an item in store, you’ll be able to receive a refund immediately. However, it may take a few days before the money appears in your bank account, depending on how long the funds take to clear.

Alternatively, if you’re returning the item by post, your refund will be processed within 14 days of Argos receiving the returned product. This means that you’ll generally receive your refund within two weeks of making your return.

In Summary

If you’re thinking of returning an item to Argos, but you’ve already opened the packaging, you might be frantically searching ‘Argos return opened item’, looking for an answer. The good news is, you can return an item to Argos after the packaging has been opened, but you’ll still need to have the original packaging to hand, any tags will need to be on the item and it will need to be in a resaleable condition.
